Here is a full version of the image Pegasus posted. It came from an eBay auction run in February 2010 by eBay seller thecatspajamas99. If you have an eBay account you can email that user and ask them if they have any other photos of your grandfather.
The picture was originally produced by famous baseball photographers George Burke or George Brace. The Brace/Burke studio has an online store at
http://www.bracephoto.com/. Their
special orders page allows you to request pictures of specific players. You might also try your luck there.
