Grand City Star Captures RU Bat Crown
When it came to hitting in the Ruthlandian Union this season, none did it better than Nick Baldini of the Grand City Cybercats. He surpassed all his peers with a .350 average to take the 2020 batting crown. The 26-year-old center fielder had 150 hits, including 31 doubles, 4 triples and 3 home runs. Baldini participated in 116 games and also chipped in 70 RBIs and scored 73 times. It was the first batting title for the 26-year-old Baldini. He missed the final month of the season with a fractured wrist.

Rounding out the top 5 were Roy Hobbes of Waleska at .347, Phil Gravelli of Crystal Lake at .345, Vic Ivarsson of Middlefield at .344 and Vic Valenti of Beechwood at .342.

Danny Redd Claims TU Batting Title
The 2020 Tycobbian Union batting champion is Danny Redd of the Tuckanarra Blue Jays. He just closed out an impressive season with a .371 average. His consistency at the plate was a prime reason the 26-year-old right fielder beat out the competition. A slump was a rare occurence for him. Playing in 123 games, Redd contributed 177 hits, 19 home runs and 81 RBIs to the Blue Jays attack. Redd is a first-time winner of the award.

Bay St. Clair rookie Jerry Todd was a second with a .363 mark, followed by Marty Blake of White River .341, Rocco Belasario of Arlon .335 and Jack Elliott of High Mesa and Gary Troxell of Arroyo Grande both finished with a .333 batting average. Elliott had topped the Tycobbian hitters for the last five seasons.
