What I like about it is that I can set up our entire draft and everyone knows exactly when their picks are due and I can determine when the draft will end. This way, I can give as much time as possible between early round picks and have the draft finish the day of the sim we reach the draft in game. It is also good for the GMs because they know when each of their picks are due as soon as the utility is turned on. No missing picks because they work 10 hours a day and a rush of selections were made while they were at work. I like the idea in concept, but fear it will make the draft take too long. I guess one advantage of the scheduled pick windows is that you know well in advance exactly how many picks you will complete before your deadline.
How much time do you allow per pick, and do you run the draft 24/7 or turn it off nights/weekends?
