This information is from the Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues.
Jose Munoz was primarily a pitcher who played for Cuban teams. He played from 1904-1916 with stints in the All Cubans, Cuban Stars, Stars of Cuba, Jesey City Cubans and Long Branch Cubans. In 1910 he played with legendary pitcher Jose "The Black Diamond" Mendez and was regarded more highly than Mendez. In 1916 he played with another Cuban legend, Luis Padron.
While playing in Cuba he pitched for the Almendares and was the ace of their staff. He played almost exclusively for the Almendares with the exception of playing one year for Havana. His best year was 1908 when he went 13-1.
He is credited with a 81-57 lifetime record and was elected into the Cuban Hall of Fame in 1940.
