23rd IPA All-Star Classic In Crystal Lake Wednesday
The 23rd All-Star Game is slated for Crystal Lake's Trumpy Donald Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 pm. Today the Islandian Pro Alliance announced the All-Stars chosen to play in the mid-summer classic. Tycobbia has won the last two games and three of the last four. Overall the TU All-Stars enjoy an overwhelming 16-6 advantage in the series. The votes are tallied and the players have been chosen -- all that's left is to "Play Ball"! The All-Stars from the Ruthlandian Union and the Tycobbian Union are set to tangle to determine which league is the best. Last year's Pro Cup finalists Herman "Baby" George of Crystal Lake and Cochise Chandler of Midway will be the All-Star skippers.

Jack Elliott of High Mesa was named for the 11th year to the TU Stars, Turon's Nicky Engstrom his 10th time, Flash Devlin for the 9th time and Benny Osterman of Ozarka and Mahaska's Bucky O'Brian were chosen for the 8th time. 7 first-year players were picked on the Tycobbian All-Star roster.

Topping the Ruthlandian squad were Waleska's Roy Hobbs, selected the 9th time, Vic Valenti of Beechwood for the 7th time, Belle Plaine's Slick Hammill made it for the 6th time and Johnny Lee Harder of Sligo and Marston's Russ Woodward were named for the fifth time. 5 RU rookies were acclaimed in their first season. The oldtimers on the teams are 38-year-old vets Johnny Lee Harder, Warren Fisher and James Mack. It was the first time the slick-fielding Fisher has been chosen in his 18-year career. The youngest All-Star is Jon French of White River. He is 19.
