14-Game Suspensions for Hoy-Black Fight
Sunday, July 28th, 1889: It was a pretty intense fight, so Dummy Hoy and Bob Black were both suspended today for 14 games for their part in a brawl which happened in a game between the Washington Nationals and the Louisville Colonels at Swampdoodle Grounds.
Hoy said, "Luckily nobody was hurt. I think we both overreacted to the situation."
