Tom Seaver 1967 - Cincinnati Reds uniform (Grr, arrgh.)
Look, I'm the last person to disagree with the idea that it was a sacrilege that Tom Seaver ever wore any uniform other than Mets blue. Heck, I developed some real hate-ons for visiting players who would dare to wear #41 at Shea, as irrational as that might be. I had the infamous Daily News back page ("Mets Trade Seaver to Reds; Kingman also being dealt") on the inside of my bedroom door, a constant reminder of the great betrayal that was the Midnight Massacre.
But still…he did put in 5 and a half years there, throwing a no-hitter (like every other ex-Met [Gooden, Cone, Scott, Ryan [x7], Nomo]…sigh.) and having some fine seasons. And yet the only picture of Tom in Cincy togs on this site appears to be a single game shot, with his face almost in profile and heavily shadowed.
So, fine. I'll do it. Rip my heart out all over again, why don't you?? Here, Tom Seaver of the (m*****f***ing) Cincinnati Reds. I need to lie down now. *sobs*
