East Point Panthers History
The Tycobbian East is the toughest division in the IPA down through the years and is tied with the Ruthlandian West for the most Pro Cup crowns. The two divisions have won 5 apiece. The TU East, however, has appeared 12 times overall, but has posted a lackluster 5-7 record, while the RU West is 5-3.

The hapless East Point Panthers are a member of the TU East and are the worst franchise in the IPA... the Panthers are over 600 games below .500 in their IPA history with a .416 winning percentage (1538-2159)... they have made the playoffs only twice and have just one pennant to show for 24 seasons in the league... East Point join the IPA in its second season as part of the expansion from 24 to 64 teams... the last time the Panthers made the postseason was way back in 2008... Denton City swept them in the TU Elite 8 Series... the Redbirds went to the Pro Cup Finals that year and were beaten by Wynnamac in 6 games... in 2002 South Fork eliminated the Panthers in the first round 2 games to none... the Stallions fell to the High Mesa Cowboys in 3 games in the Elite 8... the Cowboys whipped Elnora in the Pro Cup 3 games to none... East Point has been in the cellar 13 times and in the first division only 4 times... its 4.60 ERA is the highest ERA in the IPA.

Top Hitters: 2B Karol Zodoka (2002-2006) is East Point's all-time star with a .305 BA and 193 homers in his 5 years with the team 2002-2006... in his fine 16-year career with 3 teams Zodoka hit 391 homers and batted .293... Zodoka made the All-Star team 7 times and won 4 Golden Gloves... in 2002 he won the Golden Bat... 2B Jesse Goodwin (2008-2019) stood out for 12 years, hitting 375 homers and batting .283... won the Golden Bat in 2012 and made the All-Star team 5 times... overall Goodwin played 15 years with Ranford and East Point with a .287 BA and 430 homers...3B Rex Sokolov (2002-2006) starred in the Panthers best years, batting .278 with 136 roundtrippers (7th) and 437 RBIs (8th)... he and Zodoka formed a great 1-2 punch... Sokolov was a 2-time All-Star... 1B Bill McCann (2020-2025) was signed late in his career after 12 seasons with Southport of the TU South... with the Panthers he really blossomed and slugged 136 home runs with a .280 BA and won a Golden Glove... McCann retired at 42 after this season... SS Gil Rayfor (2014-2025) has hit .290 for his 12 years... 33-year-old Rayfor has twice been an All-Star... and is the career club leader in hits with 1930, doubles with 334 and walks with 1003.

Top Pitchers: pitchers have a tough time at hitter-friendly Armed Forces Stadium... 32-year-old Bingo Long (2013-2025) has suffered through 13 years in East Point... Long is the top winner with a poor 153-233 mark and a decent 3.95 ERA... Long is still in the current starting rotation... one of the few good pitchers the team ever had was Jarred Robillard (2003-2006), who was with the club for 4 seasons 2003-2006 and compiled a 54-49 record with a 3.85 ERA.
