Mark Kiger - Pictured On Page 584. Although many hockey players have played in the National Hockey League playoffs without ever appearing in a regular season NHL game, Mark Kiger is the only player in about 110 years of World Series & Playoffs history to ever have appeared in a Major Leagues Baseball post-season game, without having played in a regular season game. He never appeared in a regular season game before or since playing two games at second base for the Oakland A's during the 2006 playoffs. Kiger retired at 29, two years ago, after he spent the 2009 season with a New York Mets' minor league affiliate. It would take a highly unusual set of circumstances (injuries requiring Post-Season roster substitutions) for anyone to ever duplicate this feat.
