Mike Donlin Wins 1903 NL Batting Title
Wednesday, September 30th, 1903: Mike Donlin gave Phillies fans plenty to cheer about this past year. His latest achievement, the 1903 National League batting crown, gives them one more reason to celebrate. In 140 games, the Philadelphia right fielder hit .379 with 209 hits, 13 home runs, 115 RBIs, and 123 runs scored.

Wednesday, September 30th, 1903: Statistically, the American League's top-ranked hitter in 1903 was Ginger Beaumont of the Boston Americans, who nabbed the batting title with a .361 average. The 27-year-old center fielder recorded 213 hits in 590 at-bats in his league-leading season. Playing in 139 games, the Americans star collected 22 doubles, 16 triples, 7 home runs, drove in 97 runs and scored 116 times.
