IPA All-Stars Picked, Game Tomorrow At Valmara
Nothing is for certain about the 2027 Islandian Pro Alliance All-Star Game. It might be dominated by top-notch pitching performances. Or it could turn into a home run derby. Who knows? Pitch by pitch, inning by inning, the game could feature a little of both -- six strikeouts in a row by a nasty southpaw -- or a 3-homer day for some superstar slugger -- plus great catches, thrills, chills and spills -- all the great and the unexpected things that can happen in a baseball game. The only thing for certain is that, with this group of fine all-stars, the fans will really enjoy the show. The 27th IPA All-Star Classic is set for tomorrow afternoon at War Memorial Stadium, the home of the defending Pro Cup champion Valmara Vipers. Tycobbia has won 18 of the 26 games played so far, but Ruthlandia is on a 2-game winning streak.
Heading up the RU Stars will be IPA legend Roy Hobbs, who was named for the 12th time in his career. Other multiple honorees are Vic Valenti (9th), Slick Hammill (7th), Les Patterson (7th), Kenny Willard (6th), Donnie Lewis (5th), Dean Woods (4th), Kyle Hunt (3rd), George Varsh (3rd), George McKay (3rd), Travis Glass (3rd), Kees Draeger (3rd), Jeff Cooper (2nd), Johan Wagner (2nd) and Rod Bailey (2nd). Two rookies made the RU squad: Miguel Valdes and Ross Whittier.
Superstar Flash Devlin tops the TU Stars with 11 All-Star appearances, followed by Marty Blake with 7, Errol Gaudet with 5, James Couch 4, Gary Troxell with 4, Pete Gibbs 4, Jerry Todd with 3, Pat Webb with 3, Rusty Graves 3, Johnny Madigan twice, Bobby Dorignac twice, Greg Moss twice, Bob Ferguson twice and Johnny O'Rorke twice. Cotton Cornwall was the only rookie selected for the TU All-Stars this season.
