Sun Sox Slip By Suns 5-4 For TU South Title
The Tycobbian South had to go 155 games this season to determine its winner. The Southport Sun Sox and Arroyo Grande finished the regular season tied for first place and had to play an extra game to decide the division... The Sun Sox came away with a stirring 5-4 comeback victory on RF Lorne Evans 10th-inning home run... Southport had to rally from a 4-0 deficit after 6 innings, tying it up with 4 runs in the last of the seventh... relievers Rob Ricks and Joel Shepard gave the Sun Sox three shutout innings late in the game with the victory going to closer Shepard (10-5 1.44), who worked the tenth. The Suns John Nelson (7-8 1.52) surrendered the pennant-winning homer to Evans and suffered the defeat.
