Glade Spins No-Hitter
Wednesday, August 29th, 1906: "This is one of the best moments of my life," Fred Glade said. "You never think that's going to happen -- a no-hitter."
He made those comments after he held the Senators hitless in the Detroit 5-0 victory at American League Park II.
"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," said the Washington manager, when asked about his epic performance. "Glade was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number."
Glade was more humble about his historic feat and told BNN reporters that he was "just happy to get the win for the club."
He faced only 30 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 3 and walked 0.
This year Glade has 8 wins and 18 losses and a 3.74 ERA.
