Sligo Slips By Waleska 7-6, Up 2-1 In Series
The Sligo Rovers walked away with a 7-6 win in game three to send them up by a game in the Ruthlandian Final 4... the Rovers are in front two games to one... losing pitcher Jarred Laclair (1-1/2.16) working in relief walked 2B Kent Henry (.273) with the bases full to force in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth... reliever Christien Trudeau (1-0/0.00) was the winner... Trudeau blanked the Westerners in the top of the ninth.

The Rovers had to rally to win it... they trailed 4-0 after the first 4 frames, then rebounded to take the lead 6-4 after 6, only to give up single runs in the seventh and eighth to knot the score at 6-6... Sligo had a big advantage in hits with 13 to Waleska's 8... SS Howie Robertson (.341) paced Sligo with 3 hits and RF Teddy Brunet had 2... Henry and starting pitcher Lou Page (.100) had 2 RBIs each... 3B Yahto Sisika (.171) and 2B Dusty Hickerson (.231) led the Westerners with 2 hits apiece and SS Jose De Leon (.233) drove in a pair of runs.

Tucks Thump Mahaska 7-4, Trail By A Game
Tuckanarra's top two pitchers couldn't stop the rampaging Mahaska Haymakers, but the number three starter Philip Marston put them away 7-4 and got the Blue Jays back into the TU Final 4 Series... Marston cut the Haymakers' lead to two games to one in the best-of-seven series... it was a critical win for the Tucks... Marston survived one bad inning - the fifth - when he was tagged for 4 runs, narrowing the Blue Jays lead to 5-4... but Marston didn't let it faze him and he shut them out the rest of the game... Marston (2-0/2.50) surrendered 10 hits, but only one earned run, fanned 3 and walked 3, while going all the way... Yuri Nikolsky (1-1/6.75) was shelled for 7 runs and 7 hits in 5-plus innings... Nikolsky also issued 8 bases on balls in a terrible outing.

SS Jed Turchin (.469) led the Blue Jays 10-hit attack with 2 hits, including a crucial 2-run clout that put them ahead 7-4 in the sixth frame... Marston (.333) also drove in a pair of runs... C Trevor Dowd (.500) racked up 3 hits as well... Mahaska's top bats were RF Travis Tuttle (.323) and 2B Todd Tarkovsky (.433), who batted in 2 runs apiece... Tarkovsky leads the postseason with 14 RBIs so far.
