Westerners 3 HRs Power Past Rovers 8-4, Series Tied
On the road in Sligo, Waleska's high-powered artillery let loose with a 3-homer barrage in game four that waylaid the Rovers 8-4 and evened the Ruthlandian Final 4 at two games each... Yahto Sisika blasted two out of the park and Roy Hobbs hit another one... Sligo stay in the game with a 3-2 lead after 5 innings, but Sisika's and Hobbs' homers highlighted a 3-run sixth to send the Westerners ahead for good 5-3... Sisika also homered in the ninth... Waleska totaled 11 hits to 8 for the Rovers... CF Hobbs (.333) led with 3 base hits, while Sisika (.200) and 2B Doug Melton (.355) had 2 apiece... Wild Bill Butler (1-3/4.66) finally got a postseason win with a fair outing... Butler gave up 4 runs on 8 hits in his 7 innings with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts... the loser was Earl Perkins (2-2/3.69), who was lambasted for 6 runs in 6-plus frames... 1B Johnny Sackett (.295) led the Rovers with 2 hits and 3 RBIs and SS Howie Robertson (.362) collected 2 hits and scored twice.

Vainmaa Stops Tucks 4-2, Mahaska In Driver's Seat
The underdog Mahaska Haymakers got a sharp performance from Arno Vainmaa at home in Heartland Stadium in game four of the Tycobbian Final 4 and moved into the driver's seat with a decided 3-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series... Vainmaa (4-0/3.60) remained unbeaten in the playoffs by stopping heavily-favored Tuckanarra 4-2... a junk-balling right-hander Vainmaa was touched for 8 hits and went the distance... Mahaska settled the game in the fourth with 4 runs, 3 on RF Travis Tuttle's (.343) roundtripper... the Blue Jays ace Quincy Starr (2-2/5.22) worked 6 frames and was smacked for 4 runs and 7 hits... in a rarity, no one struck out on either team during the game... leading the Tucks were SS Jed Turchin (.444) with a solo homer and 2B Eddie Darby (.343) with 2 hits and an RBI... Tuckanarra outhit the Haymakers 8-7... the Blue Jays need a miracle being down three games to one... comebacks happen, but only pretty rarely.
