I hope this finds everyone well, after a safe and enjoyable New Year's celebration. I just wanted to take a minute to summarize our activity since January 1, 2011.
At the beginning of 2011 our missing list stood at:
640 players
0 coaches
23 managers
679 umpires
As we enter 2012 the list stands at:
611 players (31 found/shared during 2011, with 2 newly discovered Major Leaguers being added to the list)
0 coaches
19 managers (4 found)
626 umpires (53 found)
We had:
6,926 posts to this (players) thread
291 posts to the coaches thread
117 posts to the managers thread
394 posts to the umpires thread
402 posts to the Negro League / Japanese League (***) thread
...for a total of 8,130 posts to the main image threads, the vast majority of which include one or more images.
We also saw several great new projects launched (which I won't name individually because I'm sure I'd miss one or two...
).
All of this is to say that I think we had a great year of sharing and cooperation, and I'd like to personally thank everyone who contributed.
Looking ahead, based on feedback and requests I've received I'll soon be starting a new thread for minor league photos, and over the course of the year I'll try to develop a framework to track the collection of these images as well. Watch for a post to announce the launch of the new thread shortly.
