Background (OOTP Companion v1.x):
Back in 2010, I developed a utility called OOTP Companion (
link here). This was the result of a very painstaking and ambitious project of deciphering the binary league files from OOTP 10 to allow people to peer into their league databases, uncovering information that had previously been hidden. That utility also included functions that were missing from OOTP such as a team rater, player development tracker, HOF analyzer, and playoff leaderboard. Many of these features have subsequently been added to OOTP. Later in 2010 I updated that utility to be compatible with OOTP 11.
New Utility (OOTP Companion v2):
In late 2010, I started working on an even more ambitious project to completely rewrite the Companion utility to use an OOTP-like user interface. Unfortunately, my interest in OOTP waned and I abandoned the project before making too much progress.
People have requested that I update the utility to work with OOTP 12. Instead of updating the old utility, I have added OOTP 12 compatibility in the new project.
HOWEVER, the downside is that this new utility is half finished, doesn't have some feautres that the old utility had (such as player details page), is unpolished, and contains tons of bugs.
Anyways, here it is with all its blemishes. It is guaranteed to not work with some league configurations, but I just wanted to get something out there for folks who are interested.
Download OOTP Companion v2.0 (alpha - still does not work for most league files!) --> OOTPCompanion_v2.0b.zip
(System Requirements: You must have .NET Framework 4.0)
Guidance:
- If you are using OOTP 10 or 11, I recommend using the more stable OOTP Companion v1.8.
- If you are using OOTP 12, only the OOTP Companion 2.0 will work for you.
