1970s Financials
Hi all,
I've been running a historical league that began play in 1961. We've now reached the 1975 season and we're having huge problems with team budgets going way down. All 24 teams in the league have seen their budgets cut by 75% in just a few seasons. We use the default financials.txt file that comes with the game and in that file I don't see any problems that would cause this. The big change every year is media revenue, which has gone way down each of the past 3 seasons.
An example team are my small market Cincinnati Reds. My team had budgets around $9M dollars at the turn of the 1970s but now going into 1975 it's down to $3.3M dollars.
Can anyone come up with a theory as to what could be causing this? Or how to reverse it? Or will it just reverse itself eventually? I've been telling my league that I don't know why this is happening but my only suspicion is that it's because some teams were operating way over budgets for years as they tried to win championships so now the AI owners are tightening the budgets to try to get spending under control.
BTW we're using the latest version of OOTP 12, and have applied every patch in order since it's release.
