Reds Edge Stars 2-1, Gaudet Wins Pro Cup Opener
Favored Rolling Hills captured the Pro Cup opening game 2-1 on the road behind the superlative pitching of Errol Gaudet (6-0/1.77)... he continued his postseason brilliance with his sixth victory, stopping the Stoner Stars on 3 hits, while fanning 3 and walking just one... Gaudet outdueled Raul Hidalgo (2-3/2.45), who was outstanding, too... Hidalgo struck out 10 Reds and walked none, while permitting 6 hits.

Rolling Hills struck first in the opening frame when 1B Billy Christianson (.233) was tripled in by LF Pat Webb (.305)... RF Neil Mooney (.289) evened it for the Stars in the last of the fifth with a solo homer... the Reds won it in the ninth on another single by Christianson and a triple by 2B Derek Kristensen (.389)... Christianson led the Reds at the plate with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
