2029 IPA Pro Cup Final Series

Reds Win Again, Outshine Stars 2-1 Again
For the second successive game the Rolling Hills Reds again tamed the Stoner Stars 2-1 in game two of the IPA Pro Cup Finals to take a two games to none lead in the series... the Reds got another excellent mound performance from left-hander Johnny Brown, who halted the Stars on just 4 hits to cop his third playoff victory without a loss so far... for the second straight day Stoner got a masterful mound outing, this time from Glenn Tackett (3-2/3.43)... he was only tapped for 2 runs on 7 hits with no walks and 2 Ks.
Reds 2B Buffy Kowalczyk (.425) got the ball rolling with a triple in the top of the third... Johnny Brown's (.231) deep liner brought Kowalczyk home to snap the scoreless tie... Rolling Hills tallied the eventual winning run on CF Scotty Yiska's (.313) one-run smash in the fifth... it was Yiska's third roundtripper this postseason... Stoner got close in the seventh when Greg Bruce (.077) walked, stole second and came across on SS Benny Webster's (.245) base hit.
Game three is set for Rolling Hills' home field, Midtown Base Ball Grounds. If necessary, games four and five will be played there, too.
