Evans And Sterling Cop IPA Batting Crowns
It's official! Lorne Evans of the Southpost Sun Sox and Sterling Hall of the Crystal Lake Crushers have claimed the 2030 batting crowns in the Islandian Pro Alliance. Evans not only won the Tycobbian Union batting title, but the 25-year-old slugger also became only the fifth player in IPA history to win the Triple Crown. Evans led the TU in batting average, RBIs and homers with a .386 batting average, 134 RBIs and 59 home runs. The other Triple Crown recipients were Jack Elliott of the High Mesa Cowboys, who accomplished it twice, in 2017 and 2021, Dane Wesner of the Fairfax Frogs in 2010 and Karol Zodoka of the East Point Panthers in 2002. The 27-year-old Hall batted .349 for the Crushers, finishing up the season with 44 doubles, 2 triples and 5 home runs. Hall batted in 67 runs and scored 70 times in 119 games. Evans and Hall are first-time winners.

The runner-up to Evans was San Alejo's Bubby Blackwell, who hit .356 in 145 games with 15 homers, 68 RBIs and 98 runs scored. Third in the TU batting race was Babe Hankins at .345 with 23 roundtrippers, 109 runs batted in and 110 runs. Hankins participated in 146 games.

Valmara's Gerry Kazmarek was the number two hitter in the Ruthlandian Union behind Hall. Kazmarek batted .344 for the Vipers with 12 home runs, 69 RBIs and 82 runs in 113 games. Brad Maddox of the St. John Crusaders came in third with a .343 BA, 2 homers, 50 RBIs and 99 runs, while playing in 144 contests.
