BSC Bucs and GC 'Cats Pro Cup Picks
The 30th edition of the IPA Pro Cup playoffs gets started this Thursday afternoon with the Elite 8 Series. The Islands' baseball experts are picking the Grand City Cybercats of the Ruthlandian Union and the Bay St. Clair Buccaneers of the Tycobbian Union to battle it out in this year's Pro Cup Finals for the IPA championship with the nod going to the Bucs because of superior pitching and defense. Bay St. Clair is a well-rounded club with good starters and relievers, power and defense.
Grand City will be challenged by the Valmara Vipers, Colfax Blasters and Wynnamac Sundowners, while Bay St. Clair's competition will be the Ozarka Naturals, Blue Lake Blue Sox and the Cape Coral Hurricanes. The Vipers will be making their fifth straight postseason appearance. Valmara is the only team returning from last year's Pro Cup participants. They made it as far as the Final 4. The Vipers are the only club among the Elite 8 to ever win a Pro Cup. They took the title in 2026. Last year's champ Rolling Hills failed to make the playoffs this season, finishing third to Bay St. Clair in the Tycobbian West. The Ruthlandian Union has won 16 IPA Pro Cups, while the Tycobbian Union has prevailed 13 times.
In the first round action Grand City will host the Valmara Vipers and Colfax will be at Wynnamac in the Ruthlandian Elite 8. Over in Tycobbia, Ozarka will entertain Bay St. Clair and Blue Lake opens up in Cape Coral.
