'Macs Top C'Fax 4-2, Bardo Evens Series
On the road at Mountain View Stadium in Colfax, the Wynnamac Sundowners evened up the Ruthlandian Elite 8 Series at two games each with a 4-2 triumph... the Sundowners got a yeoman's job from pitching ace Killara Bardo and a 3-run homer from Dorak Arando to sink the Blasters... Bardo (1-1/5.73) worked 8 good innings, holding Colfax to 2 runs and 8 hits... he got help from Jim Horton, who tossed a scoreless ninth for the save... Bobby Fleetfoot (1-1/1.35) suffered from 3 Blaster miscues for the loss... Fleetfoot went 8 and a third innings, yielded 4 runs, just 2 earned, on 6 hits with 8 Ks and 3 walks... Aranda's (.200) homer in the third put the 'Macs ahead to stay... SS Kylie Ballentine (.412) paced Wynnamac with 3 hits, while 1B Mitch Fullerton (.333) was the top bat for Colfax with 2 hits, including a solo homer.

Vips Tie Series, Lem Beats C'Cats 5-3
The home crowd went home happy when Valmara rallied in the seventh for a 5-3 victory over the Grand City Cybercats at War Memorial Stadium to tie up the RU Elite 8 at 2-2... Teddy Lem (1-1/4.50) posted the win, giving up 9 hits in 8 innings, but just 3 runs... Lem fanned 4 and walked only one... Kip Day (1-1/4.60) lost it as he was battered for 13 hits in just 6-plus innings... the Vipers scored all 5 of their runs off of him... Tom Greenwood notched the save by 1-hitting the Cybercats in the last of the ninth... trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Valmara took charge with 3 runs... one scored on an error, LF Benny Hooper (.235) doubled in the game-winning score and Erek Wyszynski drove in the final one... the Vipers crashed 14 hits in all, led by RF Gerry Kazmarek (.389) with 3 hits... 2B Alec Leclerc (.176), 3B Erek Wyszynski (.200) and P Teddy Lem (.286) belted 2 hits each... 1B Mick Langston (.412) drove in all 3 Cybercats runs... his 2-run smash in the opening frame made it 2-0 and his triple put them up 3-1... Langston has 2 homers and 6 RBIs so far in the series.
