I haven't seen it as much in 12 but I have played deadball pre-closer era mostly but I think MR versus CL can affect morale if a guy thinks he is a closer and you put him as MR sometimes he gets mad. I could be wrong it may be solely based on if he is in the closer slot in the pitching depth chart.
