When you release a player with an option year the buyout cost is not subtracted from the cost of the release. I believe it should always be applied regardless of the type of contract option (player/team/vesting).

Currently this is a pretty big contract loophole where a team can heavily back-load the option years and not risk being penalized with the buyout cost of those seasons if they decide to release the player.

Edit: It looks like this is not a game finance miscalculation after all - thx VarlosZ.
