North American BaseBall League has dealt the cards out on the table, announcing the list of players looking to draw a glimpse of success in the 1918 first-year player draft. Management and scouting veterans from all teams will be able to review candidates for 30 days prior to the draft and determine who might be appropriately suited for a future role in the upcoming shuffle of fortune and fate.

Chicago's Jackson Takes Home NL Batting Honors

For Joe Jackson of the Chicago Cubs, 1918 was a very good year. Jackson nabbed the National League batting championship with a .339 average. On the season, the 29-year-old right fielder registered 189 hits, 83 runs, 24 doubles, 15 triples, 7 home runs and 79 RBIs.
Ty Cobb Paces AL with .370 Average

The American League season came to a close with Ty Cobb on top with a league-leading .370 batting average. The 31-year-old Washington center fielder swung the bat well the entire season. He concluded the year with 205 hits, 28 doubles, 12 triples and 4 home runs with 96 runs scored and 69 RBIs.
