A little background.
Cardinals, Phillies Agree to Deal
Saturday, November 9th, 1918

St. Louis and Philadelphia have made a swap. Players involved in the transaction are the Cardinals 30-year-old left fielder Zack Wheat and the Phillies 31-year-old center fielder Tilly Walker and 24-year-old third baseman Hooks Warner.

Wheat has played in 1147 games and posted a lifetime .303 average. He has 1158 hits, 169 doubles, 91 triples and 52 homers. In addition he has driven in 691 runs and scored 591 times.

In a career spanning 785 games, Walker has batted .270 with 730 hits, 19 home runs, 341 RBIs, and 321 runs scored.
