2031 IPA Pro Cup Final Series - Game 1 at War Memorial Stadium in Valmara

Vipers Bop Reds In Pro Cup Opener 5-1, Lem Winner
Valmara's vaunted pitching staff came through for them in the opening game of the IPA Pro Cup Finals at War Memorial Stadium... Teddy Lem fired a 5-hitter to whip Rolling Hills ace Errol Gaudet 5-1... Lem (4-0/3.24) racked up his fourth postseason victory, striking out 4 and walking only one in a complete game... Gaudet (3-2/2.22) was not on top of his game as he yielded 4 runs on 8 hits in his 7 innings... Gaudet walked one and fanned 3 in defeat.

LF Benny Hooper (.259) and C Floyd Randolph (.283) got the Vipers off on the right foot with RBI singles in the opening frame... in the second 2B Alec Leclerc (.246) rapped a 2-run homer to put Valmara ahead 4-0... Lem held the Reds bats in check for most of the game and they never really challenged the Vipers... SS Billy Jones (.421) doubled in the Reds only run in the fifth, while Valmara got its last run in the eighth on Hooper's groundout... RF Gerry Kazmarek (.179) paced the winners with 3 singles in 4 at-bats.
