Ruth Bombs 3 HR Against St. Louis
Monday, June 13th, 1921

Babe Ruth went on a hitting rampage at Shibe Park today and got membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He walloped three into the stands to pace the Athletics to a 17-16 victory over the St. Louis Browns.

The Philadelphia left fielder collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 4 runs.

After his three-home run game he said this to the press: "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."

Babe Ruth hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Eddie Stack in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Stack in the 4th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Herman Pillette in the 9th.

This year Ruth is hitting .321, produced 53 RBIs and 19 home runs, scored 45 times and gotten on base at a .455 rate.
