I'm not sure if this is where we're supposed to post pbp bugs, but just in case, here's one I just saw:
[Pitcher's name] into the windup...
the 2-0 pitch...
swung on...
dinked into the outfield...
and it falls in front of [Second baseman's name]...
for a base hit.
[Center fielder's name] leans down to pick it up...
but misses it!
It went right under his glove!
[Batter's name] ends up at second base.
What on earth is the second baseman doing in all of this? If the ball fell in front of the second baseman, it'd be a ground out. I suppose this could be one of those plays where the ball falls between the second baseman and the center fielder ("dinked into the outfield" suggests that it is), but if so that needs to be made clear, and in any event I wouldn't describe the ball as falling "in front of" the second baseman if he's dashing into the outfield to try to make the play. Maybe over his shoulder, or he's lost the ball in the sun, or whatever, but not this.
