NABL News: Draft Pool Revealed
Tuesday, September 12th, 1922

For would-be rookies, a list of whom was announced today by the league, the wait to find out whether or not they have been selected is excruciating. It's tough just getting a scout to notice you, to think you are worth investing an organization's future in. Then draft day arrives and you are snatched up by someone you might not have expected. Some will catch on big; others will be away from home for the first time and will struggle to gain a solid footing in the minors. Still others will battle through, gain that coveted footing and go on to have a solid professional career.

The top players available (in no particular order) seem to be:
1. Harry Rice, 20 year-old third baseman out of college.
2. Willie Kamm, 22 year-old third baseman out of college.
3. Harry McCurdy, 22 year-old catcher out of college.
4. Johnny Schulte, 26 year-old catcher out of college.
5. Earl Whitehill, 23 year-old starting pitcher out of college.
6. Hack Wilson, 22 year-old center fielder out of college.
7. Les Bell, 20 year-old shortstop out of college.
8. Showboat Fisher, 23 year-old right fielder out of college.
9. Pinky Hargrave, 26 year-old catcher out of college.
10. Heinie Manush, 21 year-old left fielder out of college.
