Bottomley Leads NL Hitters

Jim Bottomley of the St. Louis Cardinals wrapped up a very successful season by winning the National League batting crown. He outpaced all comers with his .393 average. For the season, the Cardinals first baseman played in 135 games, collected 218 hits, 21 home runs, scored 96 times, and knocked in 104 runs.

Rogers Hornsby Wins AL Batting Title

Rogers Hornsby of the St. Louis Browns capped a fine season by winning the American League batting crown. He outpaced all others with his .381 average. For the season, the Browns second baseman played in 151 games, collected 238 hits, 28 home runs, scored 123 times, and knocked in 136 runs.
