The Belair Beach Sunbirds were quite successful in the beginning of the IPA... the Sunbirds were regular playoff participants with 7 appearances from 2001 to 2016... since then they have made the first division only on 3 occasions, but never seriously contending for the division title... sixth-place Belair Beach (72-82) batted a little better than the league average, but had a mediocre mound corps, finishing 13 games in back of division winner Claxton... fielding-wise the Sunbirds were a little less than average with a .970 mark.
