Recommendation for Arbitration with big jump in salary
I have two players (each with 3 MLB years) who will be uo for arbitration at the end of this season and who are asking for a big jump in salary. Player A's currect salary is 505K; he's asking for 1yr contract for 6M (arbitration estimate 5.9M). Player B is similar - currect salary 480K; asking for 1 yr deal for 9M (arbitration estimate 8.6M). All my other players due for Arbitration are asking for extensions a lot closer to their current salaries. Consequently, their arbitration estimates are a lot closer to their current salaries. So, what should I do with these two guys if I'm trying to give them an extension for a lot cheaper than their arbitration estimate?
