2032 IPA Pro Cup Final Series - Game 1

Colfax Trims San Alejo 5-3 In Pro Cup Opener
Solid pitching and solid hitting enabled favored Colfax to take the opening game of the 2032 Pro Cup at Mountain View Stadium... Rudy Rosario racked up his 5th postseason victory 5-3 over San Alejo... Rosario (5-0/1.82) bent, but didn't break... he allowed 9 hits, but only 3 runs in his 8 innings... Rosario chalked up 5 Ks and walked only one... Konrad Koch notched his 3rd playoff save by striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced in the ninth... Colfax took the lead for good with a 3-run eighth inning, highlighted by 1B Doug Kirkwood's (.480) RBI single that tied the score at 3-3, followed by Samm Bolton's (.310) game-winning 2-run single... Bolton leads the club with 13 RBIs in the postseason... Kirkwood has 7... Colfax outhit San Alejo 11-9 in the opener... the Blasters were paced by SS Dino Manale (.326), Kirkwood and Dean Hardy (.417) each with 2 hits apiece... Manale and LF Hank Lunsford (.368) also batted in runs... it was number 8 for Lunsford, second best on the club.

Herb Stewart took a 3-2 into the last of the eighth, but couldn't hold off the Blaster bats... Stewart (3-1/1.47) was tagged for 11 hits and 5 runs, while going the distance... he fanned 5 and walked 2... 1B Rob Lewis (.367) had a good day in defeat for the Montaneros with 3-4, including a solo homer and a double... it was his second roundtripper in the postseason... SS Jeff Crandall (.343) had 2 hits and an RBI... and Stewart (.125) drove in the other run with a double.
