Islands' Best Defenders Named
In a poll conducted by The Islandian Times the Tycobbian and Ruthlandian Unions have chosen the Golden Glovers, the top defensive players in the IPA. There were only seven former winners on this year's squads, led by Marty Blake of Belle Plaine and Babe Hankins of Kenwood, the only triple winners. Jaak Pajukivi of Valka, Larry Romney of Eastshore, Rob Lanier of Ginza, Tetsu Tanaka of East Point and Dandy Meredith of Hillsboro all picked up the second Gold Gloves of their careers. The other 11 were first-time recipients. No rookies were selected this season. La Claire, Sugar Valley and Belle Plaine tops the clubs with the most Golden Glovers. They had two players each.
