TU Stars Dominate RU 7-1
The Tycobbian All-Stars dominated the Ruthlandian Stars 7-1 at the Casa de Beisbol in San Alejo to gain their fourth win in the last six All-Star Classics... overall the TU Stars now lead the series 22-11.
Tycobbian bashed Ruthlandian pitching for 11 hits and scored all of the runs in the first 4 frames, sparked by RF Babe Hankins (Kenwood) with 2 hits and 3 RBIs, LF Charlie Kota (Chicopee) with a pair of hits, including the game's only roundtripper and 2 runs batted in... SS Jarrod O'Neal (La Claire) also added 2 RBIs... the RU Stars were held to 7 hits and got the only run on CF Travis Glass' (Elnora) two-bagger.
Pat Kovacs (La Claire) notched the win with a perfect third inning, while starter J. J. Gillespie (Cold Creek) caught the loss when he was battered for 2 runs and 4 hits in the opening frame... Kota was selected as the game's outstanding player and received the MVP award.
