It was Philadelphia and Boston challenging one other in the 1930 North American BaseBall League North American Series this season. On paper, there wasn't much difference between the two strong ballclubs, but on the field, the verdict went to the Athletics. MVP was Dale Alexander (9 for 21, .429, HR, 7 RBIs)

It was the 7th for the new league champions. They defeated the Braves 4-1 in the series, winning the last game today by a 7-1 score.

Philadelphia Athletics Win 'Fall Classic' and Get Invited to the White House
Sunday, October 5th, 1930

Besides winning the big game and all of the accolades that go along with it, the President of the United States has already let the team know that he would like them to visit later this year. When speaking of the call he received from the POTUS, Athletics Manager, Kim, seemed a bit flustered. "He told us that he wants to meet the boys that won the Series and asked if we would come to the White House. I told him, "Hell Yes...er-Yes Sir, Mr President". While the date has not yet been decided, we will be reporting upon the exciting event.
