PLUS: RICHIE ASHBURN, in his prime (age 24) makes an outstanding catch to save a home run in the 1951 All-Star game off the bat of the Tigers' Vic Wertz. The game was played on July 10, 1951 at Briggs Stadium, Detroit. Ashburn's better late than never induction into the Baseball Hall Of Fame at age 68 in 1995 was the source of much joy for many Phillies fans.
