We picked up Ray McGrain(TAM) - (8.1IP, 1.08ERA, 2BB, 6K) off waivers to bolster the bullpen. Matt Hinton will be sent back down to AAA; he has three more option years left

Wilder threw out his back and will be out for 6 weeks, with back spasms. Jesus Baca will fill in as a spot starter in the meantime and Matt Hinton will be called back up to the pen from AAA. Wilder’s injury will be difficult, hopefully the offense will be able to pick up some of the slack. Nishikawa continues to struggle at the plate and has moved down in the batting order, through 24 games he still does not have a home run.
