Your Cold Creek town creation was one of my favorites. T. Kelly Holmes was an old-time star in the amateur days of Cold Creek baseball, who later became the first manager of the IPA Catamounts. His son, Kelly, Jr., never played pro ball, but T. Kelly Holmes III did. He played center field for his granddad and had a wonderful career. In fact, Trip Holmes was one of my favorite players. I would pull for him to do well every season and was sad when he retired. He later replaced his grandfather as manager of the Catamounts, but only had modest success. "Trip" was short for Triple. He played for 17 seasons. Trip was a 4-time All-Star and 2-time Golden Glover.
The fans continued the tradition of yelling "T.... K... Ho" when Trip would come to bat, just like they did for his grandfather in the amateur leagues. They would also use it to start a Catamount rally, too.
