North Hills Hosts IPA All-Stars
The 35th edition of the Islandian Pro Alliance All-Star Game is set for tomorrow afternoon at the Hawk's Nest in North Hills, the home of the IPA Pro Cup champion. The elite players from the Ruthlandian Union and Tycobbian Union will go tete-a-tete on the baseball diamond in quest of baseball supremacy in the Islands. Baby George of Crystal Lake will be at the helm for the RU Stars, while it will be Todd Simons of North Hills heading up the TU Stars. The series stands at 23-11 in favor of the Tycobbian Union.
9-time All-Star Loco Dillinger will be the captain for the RU All-Stars. Scotty Lagrange of Eastshore will make his fourth appearance in the mid-summer classic. Appearing for the third time in their careers are Carl Bentley of Belle Plaine, Bobby Gamble of Sugar Valley, Terry Richards of Waleska and Noel Martin of Belle Plaine. There are two rookies on this year's squad: Emilio Gallo of Taranto and Felipe Hernriques of Volusia.
The honorary captain of the Tycobbian Stars is Lorne Evans, who was honored for the eighth time in his illustrious career. Tetsu Tanaka of East Point has made the All-Stars on five occasions. Red Bluff's Allie Blackwell will be participating for the fourth time. Seven players will be appearing for the third time: Jay Barajas of Fairfax, Paco Diaz of Arlon, Kerry Sterling of Oxford, Koora Nawajuk of Kenwood, Jarrod O'Neil of La Claire, Joe Korman of Blue Lake and Ike Sweetwater of Red Bluff. The TU All-Stars have two freshmen on the team: Corky DiNozzo of Kenwood and Gilberto Duarte of San Alejo.
