The City of Boston is mourning the passing if of Luis Martinez, owner of the Boston Bluegills. He passed away at local hospital after a brief illness. Team sources told reporters that son Cristo Martinez would take over running the team and will eventually be named the new owner. Inside sources say that Cristo will be demanding and cheap, not a combination that always goes well together.

Under Luis’s 19 years as Boston’s owner, the team has a .437 willing percentage and has never made the post season, three times loosing over 100 games.

San Francisco Greyhounds, who are in 2nd place in the NL Western division made a trade with Fresno to acquire 35 year-old SP Cesar Legrand. Legrand is at the end of 16 year career after compiling a record of 219-188, 3.76. Ten years ago Legrand spent 3 years with the Mallards going 38-27 while making one All-Star team. San Francisco currently sits 5th in the Wild card (7GB) and 3 behind the Mallards. San Francisco certainly looks to be making a run for the postseason; they gave up their starting CF Shannon Palmer and #96 prospect CL Manuel Farias.
