Hawks Stun Frogs In TU North, Elnora And Volusia Also Winners
It's all over but the shouting and the crying in the Islandian Pro Alliance pennant races. In a miraculous comeback, defending Pro Cup champion North Hills stunned Fairfax by winning its final three games of the year, while the Frogs were losing the last three, thus forcing a one-game playoff for the Tycobbian North flag. In an unprecedented finish, the Hawks whipped the Frogs 4-2 and will now get a chance to repeat as IPA champions.

Other tight races went to the Elnora All-Stars, who held off the Sugar Valley Rattlers to win the Ruthlandian East division crown by a game. In the Ruthlandian West, the Volusia Vigilantes racked up the pennant for the second year in a row. The V's outlasted Colfax by two games and Fort Benton by three games in a hard-fought race.

The other five divisions were no contests as LaGrange won the RU North by 7 games and Waleska claimed the RU South by 12 games. In the Tycobbian Union, the Tuckanarra Blue Jays, Chicopee Braves and San Alejo Montaneros were easy repeat pennant winners. The Monties won by a whopping 18 games, the Tucks by a dozen and the Braves by 10 games.

The IPA Pro Cup playoffs are slated to begin this Friday with Waleska playing at home against LaGrange and Elnora entertaining Volusia in the Ruthlandian Union, while it will be Chicopee at Tuckanarra and North Hills in San Alejo in the Tycobbian Union. The Elite 8 Series will all be best-of-seven games.
