The first order of business as the calendar moves to preseason is to adjust the scouting and player development budgets. I increased the scouting budget to $8 million and added Venezuela to Cuba as preferred scouting countries. I also increased the player development to $7 million. I did not want to miss the boat on these increases two years in a row. That would have been grounds for firing.

My 40 man roster currently sits at 38 which will give me a little room to maneuver if the opportunity arises, but at this point I am content to sit until the Spring Training. This is to be a work in progress, but continuing to draw the fans while improving the minor league system.

Currently our minor league system is rated 8th in the ABL with four prospects in the top 100, with newly acquired SS Christian Ryan leading the pack at 17.
