May 17-19
May 17:
Brewers 3 @ Cardinals 4
WP: Lance Lynn (5-3, 3.63)
LP: Marco Estrada (3-4, 4.86)
SV: Trevor Rosenthal (2, 3.43)
HR: MIL: Aramis Ramirez 2 (11)
After allowing two runs in the first, Lance Lynn settled down to pitch 7 more innings without allowing another run. Trevor Rosenthal allowed a run on three hits in the ninth, but he was able to hold the lead.
May 18:
Brewers 2 @ Cardinals 9
WP: Jake Westbrook (2-4, 4.18)
LP: Yovani Gallardo (3-4, 3.08)
HR: STL: Pete Kozma (2), Carlos Beltran (7)
Westbrook pitched very well, only allowing two runs in seven innings. The game was close until the seventh when Pete Kozma blew the game open with a three run home run. Unfortunately, Yadier Molina left in the first inning with an injury.
May 19:
Brewers 0 @ Cardinals 7
WP: Shelby Miller (3-4, 3.19)
LP: Hiram Burgos (0-3, 4.50)
HR: STL: Matt Carpenter (8)
Shelby Miller battled for six innings, giving up no runs despite three errors by the Cardinals. In the seventh, with the score 2-0, we scored 5 runs, three coming on a David Freese double. We have played very well recently, as this is our fifth straight win. We also receive the great news that Yadier Molina only has a sore shoulder, and he will not need to head to the DL.
