It surprises me that none of the countries where cricket is popular (save Australia and perhaps some of the West Indian nations) have had many players convert to baseball, with such a similar skillset required. Certainly, there is more money that can be made in professional baseball (particularly at the Major League level) than in first-class cricket (for instance, an A-level central contract for the Indian national team is worth about $180,000 per year).
