4 RACES STILL GOIN' IN IPA
With one week to go we still have five divisions in doubt in the Islandian Pro Alliance... the defending Pro Cup champion North Hills Hawks have clinched their fourth straight Tycobbian North title... the Tuckanarra Blue Jays have claimed the Tycobbian East for the fourth year in a row... and the Waleska Westerners captured the Ruthlandian South for the second time in three seasons... the Hawks (86-61) won out over the Fairfax Frogs (78-69) and Blue Lake Blue Sox (78-69)... the Tucks (93-54) topped the East Point Panthers (84-63)... and the Westerners (89-58) easily disposed of the Claxton Diamonds (77-70)... all the other races are still up in the air.
Three teams are still in contention in the Ruthlandian West with the Fort Benton Defenders (86-61) holding a tenuous one-game lead over the runner-up Colfax Blasters (85-62) and are just two games up on the third place Sligo Rovers (84-63).
In the Ruthlandian East, the strongest division in the IPA, the Cold Creek Catamounts (96-51) have a slight two-game margin over the second place Elnora All-Stars (94-53)... the Sugar Valley Rattlers (92-55) are in third, trailing by 4 games with 7 games to go... all three powerful clubs are worthy of a Pro Cup postseason spot, but only one of them will get it... each one of them has chalked up 92 or more victories this year... the Catamounts lead the IPA in wins... the All-Stars are second, Tuckanarra (93-54) of the TU East is third and the Rattlers are fourth... six of the teams in the RU East have winning records.
It's a heck of a pennant race in the Tycobbian West between the La Claire Lynx and the Kenwood Wildcats... going into the final week of the season they are tied for first place with 83-64 records.
There's also quite a battle in the Tycobbian South Division... the San Alejo Montaneros (89-58) are two games ahead of the second place Turon Typhoons (87-60) and four in front of the third place Summerland Sunsets (85-62).
LaGrange (82-65) has a good shot at its third consecutive Ruthlandian North Division crown with a four-game bulge over second place Kilkenny (78-69).
