Ok, yeah, CL is easy.
My familiarity with baseball is actually rather limited. I enjoy deep simulations, which is why I like OOTP, but I am probably the least adept person here when it comes to the game of baseball itself. So I have the AI handle my depth charts while I'm learning the ropes. And the AI rather helpfully picks some people who it thinks make good PH's and PR's (is that a thing?). But then I forget their names when the game starts... and yeah.
But I guess the solution is to focus more carefully on the depth charts to begin with, to understand what's happening there, which will make it easier for me to select the right guy for the job during the game.
(My knowledge of baseball is so limited that I didn't even know you could have pinch hitters and pinch runners until they showed up in my depth charts.)
