V'S FARMER TOP ROOK IN RU
2037 was not a great year for rookies in the Islandian Pro Alliance, neither in the Ruthlandian Union, nor the Tycobbian Union... there was a dearth of young talent in the leage... Volusia's shortstop Charlie Farmer was hailed as the RU Rookie of the Year... the 25-year-old participated in 136 games, batted .283 and had 7 HRs, 58 RBIs and 78 runs... in the field Farmer showed good range.

His Volusia teammate, center fielder Cazzie Carvalho, finished second in the freshman poll with a .290 BA, 18 HRs, 67 RBIs and 52 runs... and he was strong with the glove, too... Carvalho played in 94 games.

Number three in the rookie voting was Kenny Morrow, a right-hander for the Grand City Cybercats... Morrow was 13-10 in 32 starts with a 3.67 ERA for the last place Cybercats.
